# Welcome

This site contains a basic overview of the German language for English-speaking students. Unlike most similar content on the Web, everything here is original, ad-free, cleanly formatted and easy to print. We've tried to write in plain English and keep German terminology and linguistic jargon to a minimum.

We hope it will be useful as:

*   a supplement to German-only classes and textbooks
*   a guide for working with a tutor or tandem partner
*   a way to brush up if you've studied German in the past
*   a framework for self-study
